Yase Plays: Is This Seat Taken?

First I would like to wish “Is this seat taken?” a very very happy first anniversary. The game initially came out on August 7th of 2025, I had originally planned to release the review then but with Gamescom and then the flu my plans were unfortunately altered a bit.

Nonetheless I want to thank you so much, potipoti studio, for giving me the chance to play your adorable and consoling game and providing me with a game key.

I guarantee that the game is worth every single second and penny.

“Is this seat taken?” is a cozy logic puzzle game where you play matchmaker for a set of charming and hilarious characters.

Hopping, driving and walking from level to level, accompanied by very enjoyable and atmospheric tunes in a omniscient role, you encounter many little shapes such as rhombi, triangles and circles navigating daily life situations in which they must find a seat or spot that’s accommodating for them - whether that may be in the bus or train, the park or even fancier places such as their friends’ weddings.

But this is no easy feat, as all the little shapes you are traveling the world with and trying to help, have some peculiar and very specific requirements and wishes as to where they wish to be placed or sat.

Hover your cursor over them and before you know it, they will gladly and quickly communicate to you, where exactly it is that they want to be - or don't want to be.

Beside their friends or family, maybe alone, maybe somewhere quiet, maybe somewhere loud, the list is endless. And man, do some of these shapes have terrible hygiene!

This guy smh!
This guy smh!

As the levels continue to go on, so do the wishes of the shapes, and they get more and more complicated and intricate with each location you visit, so get ready for some fun brainstorming and pondering as you push and shove and drop them around and giggle and maybe even let out a tiny frustrated huff in between it all - while still having fun of course!

I think my favorite part about all of this is that this could have easily worked as “just” a puzzle game with its mechanics and gameplay, not needing anything further. But the game devs poured all their love and care in and even gave it an engaging and interesting storyline you follow, as you travel alongside the shapes and fulfill their placement wishes. Not to tell too much but you follow a rhombus who, encouraged by his friend, sets out to maybe become a big film star like his idol Luca the Rhombus. Not only is this incredibly cute and charming, it’s also hilarious and funny and had me grinning from ear to ear as I helped the rhombus hop from one big city and country to the next, following Luca on his artist journey.

As this is a point and click game as well, there are a lot of fun interactions to be had with the environment that the shapes inhabit and not only the shapes itself, which makes for great achievements to unlock, as I did, playing the game on Steam. On top of that each fully completed level gives way to secret levels which hide their own rewards.

So if you’re an avid completionist and trophy hunter, “Is this seat taken” will easily and efficiently scratch that itch and give you a satisfying way of adding another hundred-percented game to your library.

I effortlessly got addicted to "Is this seat taken?" and found myself playing for hours without even realizing it, as the curiosity as to where Nat's story will lead, what city and country might be waiting next and how many more different shapes I could discover honestly dragged me into a chokehold and I regret nothing.

Peak character design.
Peak character design.

If you want to explore how skilled and creative you can be and haven’t given your brain a really good puzzle to ponder about in a while or if you really just like super cute little dudes, “Is this seat taken?” is absolutely for you.

The game is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch and even on mobile, making it even more immersive when you help the shapes travel, while also traveling!

For only $9.99 that is a absolute steal and great investment for all the lovely people who put so much love into it. Again, a wonderful and happy first Birthday to "Is this seat taken?", I am a huge fan and can't wait for future projects and games or maybe and hopefully even more levels to play and replay.

Yase out!
